A Blue Alert is a public safety alert issued by law enforcement agencies in the United States to help locate and apprehend suspects who pose a serious threat to law enforcement officers and the public.
Similar to Amber Alerts for missing children and Silver Alerts for missing senior citizens, Blue Alerts use various communication channels, such as emergency broadcasts and social media, to disseminate information about suspects, their descriptions, and vehicles involved in incidents where a law enforcement officer has been killed, seriously injured, or assaulted and the suspect is at large.
Blue Alerts aim to enhance public safety and aid in the swift apprehension of suspects.
